Training and Experience
I am a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP). I completed my six-year training with IPCAPA in 2024, including the Jungian pathway, which brings a creative, thoughtful dimension to my psychoanalytic approach.
For over 30 years, I have worked with children, young people, and their families in a variety of settings, including schools, nurseries, local authority children's services, and NHS CAMHS. My career has given me a deep understanding of the emotional challenges children and adolescents can face at different stages of development.
In NHS CAMHS, I have supported children and young people aged 0–18 experiencing difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, self-harm and suicidality, identity-related distress, and the effects of abuse and physical illness. Alongside providing psychotherapy, I have extensive experience working with parents and carers, carrying out assessments, and collaborating with professionals to ensure children receive the support they need.
My aim is to offer a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where children, young people, and their families can begin to make sense of their experiences, develop greater emotional understanding, and find new ways of moving forward.
Specialisation
I have a great deal of experience in working with children who have experienced sexual abuse and developmental trauma, looked after and adopted children and their families, and children with chronic physical conditions or disabilities.
